Meaningless?

Is this all there is?
The monotony of duty
The wonder and the waiting
A day’s work still undone
But calling it an ending.

God are you there?
Do you hear these cries unheeded?
Why are you silent, still
Withholding the love of life
I so desperately needed?

Is there hope left in this darkness?
I think Solomon said it best:
“Life is but a breath
Meaningless
Meaningless.”

Yet in the tempest of my heart
A still small voice whispers
“Peace be still, abide in me.
My love will hold your life,
your soul deliver.”
