A Darkness That Shatters: A Modern-Day Psalm

in silence and stillness I wait
for this broken heart to mend
for in the shadow of your wing
new mercies you send
a darkness that shatters
this frail heart of stone
and remade by your grace
your arms of love call me home
in this gentle embrace
you calm every fear
for the darkness is as light
your love draws me near
in your glorious presence
you can never forsake
a heart softened by weeping
nurtured by tears
no you dear lord
are my love’s final home
refined and renewed
and new life yet to come
“i will never forsake you no matter the cost
my love everlasting redeemed at the cross
arise now my love your burdens released
i’ll turn your mourning to dancing
your trials to peace
in the darkness you’ll find
a new light yet to bear
the unseen revealed as a dance
in my glory you share”
